Yes, changing to ALSA helped me too. Although it wasn't a really bad
bug, it was annoying all the same. Especially if you wanted to use

I can reproduce this bug using fresh install Hardy Heron with latest updates.
gnome-applets 2.22.1-0ubuntu2
gnome-panel 1:2.22.1.3-0ubuntu1
Steps to reproduce:
1. Login in gdm to your account
2. Logout
3. Login to the same account
Result: missing trash applet icon

I run strace xsane and found out that it was pausing while opening
/dev/parport0. I just turned on my printer (that just happens to be
connected to the parallel port) and tried again. Yo and behold, it
worked. :-)

I'll have to inform Gigabyte of the problem, then. The BIOS I have is
F4, which is the release version, but also the most recent version
available for this board. With such a new product, I guess that's the

Same thing happens without TwinView. I removed the MetaModes and
TwinView lines and added line
Virtual 3840 1200
in the SubSection Display of Section Screen. Again, with only first
monitor enabled the DPI is incorrect and with both monitors enabled it
is correct.

This morning I had a ata1.00 : revalidation failed (errno=5)
I've set all_generic_ide and it solved my pb.

Well. When i leave the laptop alone, with downloads active, about the 30
minutes or more, the network crash and i do:
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart
With these comand, I can enjoy of the network because the network's state is
good.
