I fond the origin of the problem and a solution. The rendering propblem
occurs when you have all of the following:
1. TrueType bytecode interpreter enabled in the freetype library. (This

Just to make things clear. A .dmg file is a disk image and treated on
Mac like a real disk. The DMG file comes in different formats: HFS,
HFS+, UFS, ProDOS, Linux, and Fat32 and so may also require special

yes, nothing have changed. Something I haven't told before is that I'm using
Ubuntu from 5.10 upgraded sequentially until 8.10. I saw other posts with the
same problem with fresh install also.
Installing libstdc++5 and then reinstalling Lightning (from Mozillas
Webiste) made it work.
Confirmed (Kubuntu Interpid, TB 2.0.0.18, Lightning 0.9). Now it works

confirm, I have the same problem, but only on Interpid, with Hardy 8.04 my
webcam is working fine out of the box
