I also hope people who work on Ubuntu take notice of this issue. If you
want to include beta drivers in the kernels, that's fine, but that beta
kernel should really be marked as

Can I propose that we roll back the version to -11.10 and then stop
updating the drivers in intrepid? It is much better to accept that
certain models just won't work than to break machines where it worked

Any progress (or is there another duplicate bug I can follow) on this problem?
My X (using xfce ontop) still crashes and I am running it with vesa driver for
now.

I have tried the ubuntu 9.04 daily live cd jaunty-desktop-amd64.iso from
