I made a test on Jaunty and there was no kernel panic. The touchpad worked fine
and no error was reported in the Xorg.0.log file.

There was a security related kernel upgrade today (among other things)
which required me to reboot. Since I had rebooted anyway, I decided that
I would try running GDM again to see if any of the applied changes had
fixed my problem.
It works again now!

be very well suported with the 690G chipset and libata else I don't

sequence has a unique ID assigned to it.
Is there any work around for this?

Curiously, I can't reproduce this using any of the applications I've
tried. While I do have some level of IPv6 networking, I've deliberately
turned it off for this test, and in any case I'm testing at the tcpdump
level; I can clearly see the A and queries going out in parallel,
rather than
