expired The problem is that the install process ocassionally fails
to install gdm properly. The solution is to reinstall gdm:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall gdm

install the latest driver on my ubuntu 9.04 and that solved the problem,

Robert, it is probably fine to include radeonhd in the whitelist. It
supports 3D functionality sufficiently well. Also since it is not the
default driver, I don't think we're incurring risks by having it on.

The same thing happens with Virtualbox.
Basically, any VMM which creates a new MAC address will run afoul of
this.
For now, I'm just going to remove the persistent rules file on boot.

Same thing here. Xeon CPU, Ubuntu 64 bit. Only the CVS snapshot
compiles. All the rest got some problem with makefile.

Any updates on this? It's not just HPs, new server boards from
Supermicro, MSI, Tyan and Gigabyte also ship with the 82576, due to its
better virtualization performance. Not being able to install 8.04 makes
a farce of "LTS" :(
