is set to 128, but this doesn't make Load/Unload count to increase very
much. I've set kjurnalad to touch disk only each 10 min and also pdfush
to 15 min, nut running even Firefox couses disk to spin down and up all
the time.

OK on the fourth reboot, some hours after first trying, the SIP entry
appeared in the protocls list for new accounts appeared. So the
original error as reported is only part of the story. It is not a
question of doesn't allow but a question of why does it take so long
for the entry to register?

problems. Reboot fixes it as before. If I run service network-manager

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10, HP Mini 5101 built-in BT card, Nokia N95 8 Gb.
Network-manager detects and configures my modem automatically when

Yeah I still haven't been able to resolve it. I switched over to
Songbird for the time being. No problems editing ID tags with that.

Andreas, I am with you with not knowing whether this is a bug or a
feature. Certainly it is a carry-over from when Linux was predominately
used by programmers who learn that '\t' means tab.

i agree with scott. this is a kernel bug in the intel graphics driver.
i think its related with power management, it seems to be correlated with
putting the monitor into standby.
and the linked freedesktop bug is not related imho (at least the output
is completely different).

Ok, I am totally new to linux so I also am a novice when it comes to
updating patches. I downloaded Ubuntu Desktop 9 and of course it won't
recognize the USB Devices on my laptop. I have a Toshiba Satellite
A215-S5818 with Windows Vista (build 6). Ubuntu 9 is the guest OS on
VMWare Workstation
