Same problem for me on complete new install of 10.04.
I burned a standard CDR... it burned OK but didn't eject.
Right mouse clicking the CD icon on the desktop and selecting Eject works.
Brasero is obviously not calling the standard eject code as all other eject

I'm facing similar problems on Karmic and Lucid. Just another
observation- this seems to be a problem in other distros too. I've sen
this problem with Mandriva 2010.0 and Opensuse 11.2. Opensuse 11.2 does
not use KMS, but initializes the framebuffer and uses splashy to provide
the graphical boot.
This has nothing to do with input related packages. The problem is, that your
language installation was not complete for the English language and therefor
language-selector installs the missing packages at the next opportunity, which
is the next time you install anything else with
So, to further debug this: What else could be the problem? Where should
I look? Apparently I don't have remote access to the system in question,
so looking into the issue may take some time on my side.

After upgrading to 10.04 the graphics during boot are corrupted. They
show up but are unreadable. The rest used to work, but started crashing
after suspend recently. If I reboot then the garbled graphics show up
(you can make out the lines and the Ubuntu logo, but
cd ~/.gnome2/keyrings
rm default.keyring
these are the same commands as the previous ones and i get the same
error once again..
