i have 1 GB ram in my system.
this slowness and problem are just since i ubuntu 10.10. i have first
upgraded from 10.04 and i had experienced a lot of slowness of evolution
than i did a clean install to handle that and put up 10.10 clean and
newly. it is the same. from time to time it slows

BTW, in contrast to the files described above, shotwell recognized Nikon
RAW files with .NEF extensions, and treats them correctly, but
incredibly slow, virtually unusable for a 8 or 16 GB card. (Seems to be
a problem with preview file generation)

The latest upstream kernel will have the same problem because the kernel is

Have just installed Maverick on my desktop (64 Bit) and both Google
Chrome and Chromium crashed immediately after launching (but Chrome
works fine on my 32 Bit netbook - go figure).
I removed Moonlight as per Michael's post, and Chromium now runs fine.

I could not test virtual box, as it did not have the virtual box drivers

Yes, problem persists in Lucid and Meverick.
But i think i found the source of the problem. When I installed ubuntu I chose
USA layout as a default one, then after installation was complete I removed USA
layout from my users personal preferences and added 2 new ones.

Well it seems to be that clutter-1.0_1.2.12-0ubuntu14 is too old.
It is not build against the new gobject-introspection_0.9.12, which is already
in natty repos.
Also noticed that newer clutter build clutter-1.0_1.2.12-0ubuntu15 failed,
perhaps because too old json-glib.

I think this bug is to important to keep it open till Natty. It makes UNR
unusable and the workaround should not be the answer.
