hi, i have the same problem with Maverick 10.10 with kernel 2.6.35.22, i tried
to update the kernel to 2.6.36 but the problem persist, i also updated the bios
and here the pc changed his behavior before it will hung at the screen boot
(with the acer logo) now it try to load the system but at

I did some more digging on this, and looking at the code for evolution
2.30.3, it uses libcanberra for playing the sounds. This is confirmed
by looking at the GNOME bug report that says that libcanberra was used
since 2.29.x. However, ldd shows that libcanberra is not a dependency

I actually think it's an HPLIP bug: the PPD spec does say specifically
that a given PageSize's ImageableArea should be the maximum area common
across all options (5.15, Information About Media Sizes, On some
devices, ...). See also bug #487695.
