The bug is not actually fixed, it is only worked around by installing
the resolvconf package by default. If you uninstall the resolvconf
package, the bug will reappear.
However, the buggy package is now isc-dhcp-client.

If receiving a new message in Thunderbird, a small counter appears in the
corner of the icon in the launcher. It disappears if the new message had been
opened.
BUT: If receiving more than one messages in one time the counter only
disappears if all the

Forgot to say that already several months ago I did a complete re-
install of the system. Currently it is running Precise, but most

Binu, Sometimes we are not sure what exactly fixed a certain bug in the
development cycle, so in those cases it becomes really difficult for us
to backport the fix to older version. Our current focus is Ubuntu 12.04
updates and 12.10 development so I believe only critical issues will be
now

I've got the bug since Ubuntu 12.04 release canditate. I haven't got any such a
problem with Ubuntu 12.04 beta or 11.10.
I upgraded now to 12.10. Same problem and I feel, it's getting worse.
Working with Ubtuntu2d desktop, no such problem occurs.
