I noticed this when using gparted. top reported Compiz using ~55% of a
CPU. When I dragged the progress bar off-screen, compiz was reduced to
16%. I dragged the progress bar on and off the screen a few times and
confirmed that the jump in compiz was directly related.

There's a workaround for this that may work for some folks. If your
concern is only ignoring certain types of files while importing from a
camera/memory card, the search toolbar may be of use.
While in the import page, hit F8 to make the search toolbar appear (or

The last scan does not complete when running the Simple Scan auto
feeder. Even when I restarted Simple Scan it did not want to do new
scans right away. I found out that if you leave it long enough (30+
min) it did complete one time. I was also able to do a series of
multiple scans without
bricked my Samsung NP300E5C today.
Tried to install latest Ubuntu 64bit on a brand new samsung ssd;
used Ubuntu32bit before.
switched on sata3 mode in bios before installation - no other changes
got critical errors during installation
then i wanted to switch back sata mode; got something like
