I have the same issue with ubuntu 13.04 AMD64.
I´m using a server edition with package ubuntu-desktop.
At first I installed the lv_root with reiserfs and than re-installed it with
ext4. The root_lv still busy whem booting or rebooting.
Today I´m unable to backup the OS with clonezilla cause the

That PPA does not contain the Precise version of the Compiz package that
has this fix. It looks like this fix for inclusion into a package is
still pending and it's hard to tell when that will happen.
