computer with the following command:
sudo sh -c sync echo 1 /sys/power/pm_trace pm-suspend
? For me, networking works when suspending with that command, but the

After some discussion with Leann we've decided *not* to backport this to
the -lts-raring kernel. This is mainly due to timing issues, i e there
is some significant delay before the patches will reach -updates, and at
that point, there is not long before 12.04.4 is release. Instead wait

Just for the record, this bug does affect Xubuntu 13.10 as well. I
installed Xubuntu 13.10 both i368 and amd64 and it seems, this bug is
alive with Xubuntu as well and that is obvious and logical because
Xubuntu is using xfce4-power-manager as well.

Opening this since I've been working on improvements to the multiple
precision bits that should have positive effect here. In fact as I
mentioned in comment 7, improvements are already evident.
Since optimization patches can go on forever, I'm going to put a cap on
it for the resolution of this

improvements. The worst case is only about a 100 times slower now
