As far as I can tell, the issue is alive and well--the bug persists.
Every detail of the error initially described by Trampas on 2009-10-28
is present (i.e. need to resume twice from sleep when going to sleep
with power cord on and resuming with power cord off). So perhaps this
bug did not have
I am not a gnome developer. Nor do I have infinite time to learn all the
caveats of doing what you proposed me to do.
I reported this bug to bring it to the attention of Ubuntu developers,

My lenovo T61P will resume with lid switch, get login screen then go back to
sleep. I have to then resume using power button. This is with 9.10 rc Nvidia
185 and virtualbox installed.

Bluetooh should remain off if I left it as off the last time I shutdown
the computer.

I think I missunderstood what ubuntu-bug firefox would do. I see now I should
have launched ubuntu-bug bluetooth.
Please let me know if you need more information on the bluetooth pkgs in this
system (an installation of 9.10 beta plus dist-upgraded to today).

I have a T60p whose wireless worked fine in 8.04, but it's broken in
8.10.
On resuming after sleep, the network manager scans are not updated.
Still tries to login to networks that are *not* present in the vicinity
(i.e. the home networks when at work, and viceversa).

The program 'screen' fail to launch after every reboot in ubuntu-eee on
a eee PC with the following error message:

Directory '/var/run/screen' must have mode 777.

... which is easy to fix, but must be done at each reboot, with:
$ sudo chown 777 /var/run/screen
I am using that machine remotely now, so unfortunately I cannot test
java3d (no GLX in tightvncviewer).
All other machines I have are either not 64-bit, or don't have an ATI
card.
