I don't know if it's related, but KDE System Monitor (Kubuntu) reports
one of my four processors at 100% utilization all the time, but h/top
and even System Monitor's own task list never show any process taking
more than 5%
I can confirm the exact same problem as Andrew Clunis above. I have the
same hardware and once in awhile, sleep will break either trackpoint, or
all three (trackpoint, touchpad, keyboard).

unresponsive. All KVM guests were disabled, and the system was pretty

ok more to report on this. i deleted the xerox 6280 driver from my
system, and then just used the (built in ubuntu) drivers for xerox
phaser 6250N.
that works! e.g. it looks like (for me) the problem is in the Xerox
driver.
this driver did however work fine on Ubuntu 8.04, so i'm guessing there

I spoke too soon, there is still occaisonal stuttering in music tracks, and
videos.
Those are the only things where I find a hiccup is obvious.
The issues do seem to have lessened.

Music played off the primary (windows) partition on my HDD. (linux is
secondary).
In my testing to see if it was a pulseaudio problem, I disabled
pulseaudio and the stuttering had decreased dramatically. However, it
tends to be finicky and I can't

OpenOffice to a .ps file, and then tried gs -sDEVICE=x11 test.ps
it always fails. i have tried changing the font in the simple test
document to a range of different fonts, but always the same problem.

can do wobbly windows now, and Kwin doesn't crash as much. I don't think
