So I just run spatialite-gui and then close its window. If I run it
again - it doesn't show up no matter how long I wait. It's fixed only by
restarting X. Another weird workaround is to run it as a child of strace
- then it runs again.

My CPU is not overloaded anymore since I turned off some extensions. But

sorry. I simply turned off all of them, and then enabled only these:

Removable Drive Menu

I have no crash reports in /var/crash so probably it was not really a
crash, but gnome-shell behaves like it was restarted - all window titles
are gnone first, then appear again, record stops automatically. And as I
said - there is no any indication on the screen when recording is on.
