Oh, I see. Yes, I use thuinderbird 3.0.4 from repository and lightning
extension 0.9 from repository also.
I installed lightning 1.0b from contribs from mozilla's ftp site:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
The default cursor theme for KDE is oxygen, but firefox change the
cursor shape to DMZ. Such behavior is only for Forefox, other GTK apps
doesn't have such issue. If you change the cursor theme using gnome-
control-center under KDE, or you

The problem occured after upgrade from Intrepid to Jaunty. In the GTK+
based apps, when I try to enter …, using Compose key + dot + dot, I get
a strange symbol — ˙. In other apps like Qt based or Java apps or even
wine apps I get ….

No effect. I installed 2.0.0~rc2-0ubuntu2.2, restart machine, print out
text for OpenOffice.org Writer and get garbage.

Well. I downloaded 2.0.0~rc2-0ubuntu6 :) Manually. It is the latest
(26-11-2008) package at archive.ubuntu.com. I think, it is for jaunty,
but it works.
Still waiting for 2.3.

OK, according this conversation, I set up eth0 with system interface
disabled, close the network-manager windows, open it again and set
system interface to enable. Only after that policy-tool asked me for
sudo password, so I think, that the problem is, that network-manager
does not update

The bug is for Ubuntu 8.10 only (cups 1.3.9) - not for any older
version.
The bug is - when printing any document - from PDF, OpenOffice, Firefox,
not matter, KDE or Gnome, printer make a garbage line on the left side
of the paper. The rest of the
IMHO, firefox can be renamed as Daniël H. said, into something obvious.
The problem is deeper - Mozilla maybe first, but not last software
product, which have they own trademark and/or other restrictions, and
Ubuntu needs some mechanism to solve such problems in the future.
