Confirmed, and I believe still the case in Feisty. Somebody should
change debian/postinst to match the instructions in INSTALL.run of the
package, and not assume that the user is running inetd.

I can reproduce this behaviour, but I'm not sure it counts as a bug. If
you turn on an option to follow symlinks, you should expect a program to
follow them. Checking whether they are recursive isn't necessarily an
easy matter. And, as the output you attached here shows, unison does

Realistically, I don't think this is going to happen for Feisty. We're
now in freeze, and I doubt this would meet the requirements for an
