I would be happy to, but I already switched out Cyrus for Dovecot, which
appears to work without problems (unfortunately, I cannot work without
reliable email notification; pretty much anything else I have a half-
dozen options for, but not this).
I can set up another Cyrus install on another box
The problem is *definitely* linked somehow to the Cyrus IMAP server.
I just set up a test server, using Courier IMAP, and it appears to work
without any problems.

I've never had it show a negative value (so far).
Also, I do not use client-side filtering, except to tag spam messages
processed by an instance of SpamAssassin; all my filtering and sorting
requirements are otherwise handled by the IMAP server directly.

I've just had it update the item count value from 'nothing' to an
incorrect value, when I right-clicked on a folder.
I guess this means that all the right-click is triggering is some form
of update, and not necessarily (but usually) to the correct value.

Evolution folder summary does not matc
This definitely seems to be due to some interaction between Evolution
and the IMAP server.
I created a brand-new desktop user account, and linked it to the
existing IMAP server. The result demonstrated exactly the same problem,
on two separate IMAP accounts.
Curiously, when I right-click on a fol
Unfortunately, no; I cannot provide instructions on how to reproduce it,
as I'm not 100% certain how it happened in the first place. I have a
suspicion it has something to do with the migration to the SQLite DB
backend, but I'm not certain of that.
It happens for me routinely, though.

Yes; what I am trying to do is set up a search folder specifically to
catch emails that I *know* are tagged incorrectly. I used to be able to
do this, but I can't remember in what release (it was before I started
using Ubuntu).
