The error appears in Nautilus and in Shotwell but it could easily be
lower down in the OS. I can't say for sure which package has the error.
If there was some way to access a usb disk from the command line, I
could find out but there are no current instructions on how to do that
so my hands are

When I connect my camera to my computer and bring up the file manager
to examine video files, it changes the frames per second from 20 to 30,
which breaks the file. Just checking the file properties permanently
damages the file. This is recent, in the last few weeks
I finally figured it all out. The camera was on a 'USB 3' bus which is
handled completely differently (and god knows where) than the rest of
USB. That's why I couldn't get to it in terminal. On top of that I
misread the camera manual and missed that it uses 30 fps for 1280x720 so

I have the same problem. I have Audigy 2 Value as well as onboard
audio. The onboard audio works fine but the audigy is giving me
nothing. It worked fine in 9.10.

I have found my tv tuner card was failing and causing occasional
lockups, one of which occurred during upgrade of the video driver. I
also found my video card air intakes were clogged with dust so I cleaned
them out as that may also have contributed to the problem. So with the

nvidia-173 fails with exit code 2 which prevents removing the driver so

Banshee doesn't recognize the media player when it's plugged in, it freezes.
The underlying MTP programs are working, I used the command line tools to
verify. I downloaded version 1.4.3 source for which karmic has all the
