Wow... apparently this is a Firefox bug. I apparently didn't have read
permissions for the file I was trying to send... so Firefox just sent

I am still seeing this behaviour - not with blank discs, but with
standard, store-bought movies - with Lucid Lynx, with all updates
applied as of about 12 hours ago. This machine was upgraded from Karmic
Koala, which exhibited identical behaviour.

I can confirm this behaviour on Jaunty Jackalope alpha6, likewise on an
X30, and likewise Gutsy Gibbon worked on this machine. I've never run
Hardy on this machine, though.
I'm afraid I don't see anything that looks even remotely relevant in the
logs... presumably that means it locked up before
