I've just tried again now after upgrading to 18.04 and the problem still
occurs.
As suggested in LP: #1767748, I tried 3.7 from Debian and it installed
and download all the fonts successfully.

I have tried on two different machines and on both, nvprof works without
requiring sudo access.
However, neither of these are fresh installations of 18.04.
After running nvprof with sudo, please try running it again without.
Also, would you be able to

I've uploaded a fix which should be available soon.
Once it is, please do:
sudo update-alternatives --config java
and select option 0
As for the nvprof issue, please open a new bug and include steps to
