be greeted by a command-line-based prompt asking for my password.

I got everything to work properly installing the newest ndiswrapper
module from http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/, then deleting and
reinstalling the Windows drivers.
I have a Broadcom BCM4318 on a Compaq Presario 2515. It works with the
drivers available from Compaq. The driver I got comes
use the bcm43xx module.

After I upgraded to ndiswrapper 1.23 I couldn't connect to WPA encrypted
or unencrypted networks anymore using network-manager. I downgraded to
the ndiswrapper included on linux-image package and it's working fine
again for WPA.
