I figured out our problem. We lowered `fs.nr_open` on the non-working
systems from the - apparent default - of `1048576` to `655360`. The
docker package set a limit higher than our new limit, so the process was
failing to start.
Upstart is going away - boo - but in case anyone sees this issue in

the docker-engine upstart file. It's unclear to me why this is the case,
as a similarly configured server does not have this issue.

another easy workaround for this is to use a script ive written that
turns the monitor/display off, but turns it on for a second when the
mouse is moved. the easiest way to use it is to either launch it

Lenovo Laptop. While HDMI cable is connected, TV shows "no signal".
Comfirming that:
- LG TV's HDMI ports work.
- HDMI cable works (under Win7).
- Laptop can detect active HDMI connection (through xrandr)

I solved the issue by deleting the .msf file of the wrong folder (Inbox
