I downloaded and installed VLC because I do not like Totem.
So, I've tried to put VLC as default multimedia player going to System
- Preferences - Preferred Applications,
Fortunately I did the association (Googling for the solution) doing this:
- Right click on a video file
- Properties
- Go to open with tab
- Select VLC.
- ready, that video file type is associated to VLC. :)
The same for audio files.
But that makes another question: What is System - Preferences
