As has been previously said, the string is not in the PO file and also
the string is not in the source code (I tried to grep it in gnome-2-26
branch and in master too).
IMHO this is not a l10n issue (since there is no string to translate),

Apart from the really bad (and probably wrong too) C code, do you think
that something like the patch attached could be made?
Testing it with intltool I get the msgid and msgid_plural for all the
strings with the right plural form for my language (in this way
languages with 5 or more plural forms

Looking at the code, looks like the ngettext function for handling
plural forms is not working as expected. Probably it is related to the
fact that the translations are not handled directly inside the ngettext
function, but postponed with the macro N_() and referenced inside the
ngettext function.

using it due to these kind of problems), but this problem still
persists.
BTW, even with Hardy kernel 2.6.19 there's the same problem. The last
kernel usable for me was 2.6.18.

I think, IMO, this problem should be addressed within the program. We
can provide an alternative translation anyway, but the apostrophe is a
common character in italian and the problem could come out again.

safely boot.

Actually I think there's no way to disable the b43legacy driver at boot time...
I search in all the kernel boot time options but didn't find anything that
would work in this case. Personally I had to physically detach the wireless
card and then blacklist it.

- recompiled 2.6.24.2 (latest kernel cloned from git-ubuntu)
- booted normally: kernel freezes at b43legacy loading
- blacklisted b43legacy: boots fine
- modprobed b43legacy: freezes everything, even magickeys didn't work for
recovery.

The string has been corrected today in Launchpad (it was #453) and with
a new langpack everything should work fine, tonight I'm going to pass a
