I have a similar issue. I don't get repeating of phrases, but I do get
repeating of keystrokes. This is only under Gutsy; under Feisty it was
similar. Sometimes a letter will repeat; sometimes the tab key will.
Example of how this is annoying: alt + tab will get stuck and spin for
5-10 seconds;

Understood that it's not a valid jpeg, but I don't think completely
crapping out is the right response from Gimp. Ideally it would say this
does not look like a valid JPEG, but here it is anyway. The KDE apps
(gwenview, konqueror, etc) all open it silently, which is perhaps
correct given their use

off. If I change the settings in kcontrol, in administrator mode, the
changes are lost after I hit apply. This is unfortunate, as kubuntu

OK, this was the network card (or was it). I replaced the old 3com with
a new netgear, and all is well. There is still the question of why both
3com cards behaved in the same bad way...surely the 3com driver is
stable?

*add* additional hardware, X should take the principle of least harm if
it cannot do anything sensible, i.e. not change xorg.conf, unless the

This was using init.d's startkdm invocation. Nothing custom there.
The driver is nvidia, but I don't see why the driver would affect this.
This seems to be more core behaviour.

Binary package hint: amarok
One star in amarok is equivalent to awful by default. On a single
user system (where a single user is rating their music library) this
makes no sense; awful songs will likely be deleted by the user. The
meaning of one star should therefore be
Oh, so the ratings do not fold into the scores which weight how often
songs are played? If that is the case then please disregard this bug.
But, in any case, if I were to redo the tooltips for the stars, perhaps:
1 - tolerable
2 - okay
3 - good
4 - great
5 - favorite

My point is just that if the ratings are used as part of an algorithm to
determine scores (1 == less likely ; 5 == more likely), and if also 1 is
unlikely to be chosen due to awful songs probably not being kept in
the owner's collection, then the algorithm is
