I can play them in Rhytmbox with no problems. As for my internet

is correctly set up, the logout sound as well. Logging into the system
(GNOME) plays the login sound.

I heard that the open source driver for rt2500 works with recent updates
in Gutsy Beta, so I gave it a shot. After installation, network manager
could see available networks, but couldn't connect to my WPA protected
network, which has hidden essid. Setting up configuration

After a clean install and update of feisty, the module stopped
exhibiting the behavior. Since I haven't experienced the issue again
yet, I'm changing the status to Invalid.
