bug #883907 with the Oneiric xpdf in Precise. I use the Oneiric version

Copying files with adb works well for me, with a standalone adb from

mirror/downloads/detail?name=adb_fastboot.zipcan=2q= . No need to
unmount the sd card on the tablet.
With the original ROM, nothing worked for me. With CM9, at least adb is
fine.
For non-developers, a separately packaged adb would also be of interest.
Since UMS mount is not supported for many ICS devices, and mtp has
troubles of its own, adb often is the best way to copy files between
device and computer.
I am successfully using a standalone adb downloaded from

copying a directory with a few largish files went ok
From pc to GT2:
copying a directory tree to the GT2 resulted in the directory tree being

removed the exit command from my fvwm menu to force myself to end X.org
the other way. In the virtual console I issue a 'killall xinit' command
and then I can restart X. You may have to replace xinit with whatever
started X.

I would say that the bug is in the message `Please install the

I found the gamma option in the online old CUPS 1.1 manual, and it did
indeed make a difference, but it wasn't listed in the lpoptions man page
nor by lpoptions -l.
Among the included docs, gamma was only mentioned in api-ppd.html, spec-

I admit that I wasn't aware of this dynamic option.
Using lpadmin, I naturally go for the simpler option, i.e. for the ppd
rather than the interface script. I still think that it is reasonable to
expect that lpadmin can find ppds installed by an Ubuntu package.

be specified by its relative path wrt to /usr/share/ppd/. The current

name, if not the syntax of the ppd, because I found it on my filesystem.

I did that, and ran

but this didn't fix the tty files that I hadn't yet fixed myself.
A backup from a week ago of the tty files showed a correct last line so
I wonder how and why '/sbin/getty 38440 ttyn' got prepended.
