Simple, it was overriding however the atheros driver funnels my network through wifi0 (a virtual interface), essentially as best as I can figure it, avahi was trying to funnel the traffic through ath0:avahi, while the atheros driver was also trying to funnel it through wifi0, turning off avahi stop

Bug is fixed, disable avahi-daemon and wireless works correctly, it is a problem between avahi-daemon interfacing with the atheros HAL. Also, if in network manager "Automagic service discovery" (e.g., avahi- daemon) is listed as insecure...why is it on by default? -- Dlink WNA-2230 will not work
