A new kernel was installed during the upgrade, but the accompanying
kernel modules were not. As a consequence, the twofish modules were
missing, and encrypted volumes did not mount anymore.
For me, running Zesty on W230SS Clevo, it is even worse: wireless
networking stops working entirely about 1-2 hours after booting. Reboot
necessary. Still waiting for my first release upgrade without serious
graphics or networking issues, sigh :(

This issue is fixed in 16.10 where the screen is turned on with black
background and shows a blurry cursor. Since support for powerpc has been
dropped from 17.04 on and will be continued for updates in 16.04 only,
it doesn't make sense to pursue this issue any further.
