We are also being affected by this bug. We roll packages to our cluster
which is always under heavy i/o pressure from nfs mounted volumes and
the dpkg installs hang for long periods of time due to this sync issue.
Hope this can get fixed since we are relying more on dpkg for updates to

chmod 2555 /usr/sbin/ssmtp
chgrp mail /usr/sbin/ssmtp
chmod 640 ssmtp/ssmtp.conf
This should be the default for this package. You don't want plaintest
passwords visible for any mail account on the system. It's a simple fix!

If a user is using multiple layouts, the indicator is essential, and
removing it is (IMO) a significant regression from Lucid (where the
layout indicator worked just fine).

broken, or was at the time of previous tests. I don't have a hardy

This still occasionally happens to me on latest Lucid, incidentally.
I'm impressed. I filed a bug in 2009, and in September of 2010, the same
bug still occurs, the same patch is still unapplied, and people are
still reporting it as an issue.
Here, why don't I go file the bug in Debian, and we'll

synaptic does not show
I am having a similar problem with Synaptic 0.62.5 on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit.
Using the All list and entering gmp in Quick Search I see several entries
with gmp both starting with the text and containing the text, such as
libgmp3-doc. However, I don't see libgmp3c2 which is installed. It is not

updates and highly respectable specs (although the remote PC has low
specs). It's not quite unusable but close to.

I found this bug report when I was searching for a fix for a similar issue.
In my case all you have to do is move a window and then immediately click in
another window.
There may be other ways to reproduce this.

Hi,
I dug out an old SiL (3112?)PCI RAID adapter last night, hooked both
drives up as before, created a new raid set - booted into Ubuntu 10.04
