Hm, I'm afraid that's a different bug... In my case Firefox doesn't
maximize over the whole screen, it just forgets its unmaximized state.
Perhaps you should file a new bug :)

kolab_bootstrap -b script broke at the point of starting the ldap
server. after some googeling for a hint on this, I decided to set up the
ldap first without kolab ... that's why reinstall

Importance
sudo vi /boot/grub/menu.lst
(or instead of vi your favorite editor). and then add acpi=off
apm=power_off (without quotes) at the end of the kernel you use to
boot. So it should look something as:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz--generic root=UUID=numbers here ro
quiet splash acpi=off

I'll rather reinstall the whole server since more problems pile up due to my
bewitched kolab trials... I still have the old server running and have so far
just been testing the installation on the new one. exim and postfix packages
somehow got installed in parallel and aptitude can't remove

Not all games run in wine, this is not an ubuntu problem just a lack of
wine functionality.
Any game requiring more than VESA graphics will probably not run (at
this moment).
You can file a bug/feature request upstream with wine at :
http://www.winehq.org/
