This is on a ubuntustudio Impish (21.10) install which is KDE-Plasma
based, and so this impacts the ubuntustudio utilities, but it also
reverts jackd2 back to jackd1; I read elsewhere that this also affects
essential apps such as blender.

Definately a bug in there somewhere: on my system I can login, but when
the screensaver kicks in the X session collapses, the screen is blank
but when a key is touched it is full of these APCI messages. Hitting
return causes the X session to restart back to the initial login screen.

pulseaudio -- the old module-combine that was removed in the newer
editions is still referenced by the paprefs program that would normally
set the combined output feature of pulseaudio; various sources give
well THAT was disasterous: having nvidia drivers, it is poison to upgrade!

The system is now largely unusable: I've had to remove all the fglrx
drivers because they cause unity and other apps to crash (there appears to
be no open-GL support anymore) and now, rebooting into the open source
I will upgrade today and let you know; the machine is the primary
workstation for several people so it isn't aways convenient to test-- it
may take a few days to know for certain

ok, situation solved I think: I did a cold reboot, shut it down, let it
sit for a few minutes, then restarted the machine, and voila, I have
sound -- so this was, as they say, stray capacitance (ie, wtf I dunno)

the gui extraction unpacks only track 4 and the extra info files
using the unzip command line I see the files unpacked:
