Installing xfonts-75dpi solved the problem for me.
Probably it should be added to xgammon dependencies.

A note I made on bug 42078, which is probably a dup:
The problem is that the combo boxes are not fully mirrored on rtl linux
- the box element is, but the buttons are not. I do not agree that the
fact that it appears only on linux means that it is a linux problem. In
all gtk, qt, mozilla and chrom
This happens for me on oneiric, after downgrading from ppa using ppa-
purge. It is worse because there is no cogl-pango package in oneiric
anymore; I have no way of repairing gnome-shell.

This happens to me on libreoffice 3.4.4. with Gnome Shell and mutter as well,
when compiz is not runnig. I use the nvidia drivers.
I still wonder who is the culprit: libreoffice, the compositor (mutter/compiz),
or the driver (nvidia)?

It seems that this problem is resolved after removing some deprecated
cairo libraries. I do not remember exactly which ones, unfortunately,
but they were used by the package "bum", which I uninstalled :)

A workaround for this bug:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32/nvidia-current your_program_name
This seems to fix the issues.
This means that this bug belongs in nvidia-current package,
BTW, this bug also prevents every wine game from loading.

Public bug reported:
After updates which took place during the last several days, several
OpenGL commercial games stopped recognising GLX and would not load. This
happens on gnome-shell and unity, with nvidia-current and nvidia 173.
