This bug has been reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue ? Are
the correct translations part of latest Ubuntu release?
The Ubuntu Changelog shows that version 0.9.6 has been merged on Nov. 2007.
This version includes the fo
I am satisfied that I seem to have thrown a stone in the pond and that this bug
is not the result of people unwilling to respect a translation (and the
translator!). Данило Шеган even says it is a critical bug, and it is. It can
drive people away from Ubuntu. Niklas says it is a problem in Ubunt

be sure to file a bug as soon as you notice it, and pr
There was a bug that caused translations to get lost during the Edgy
development cycle, but they said it was fixed during the Feisty cycle...
(And you are the first to say that this is still happening.)
Maybe the problem is that you are also upstream and Launchpad gets

Umm, libqalculate is a Universe package and as far as I know has never
been translated in Launchpad. We don't use the language packs in
Universe. This package is straight from Debian, we didn't modify
anything. All we did was rebuild it on an Ubuntu infrastructure. I guess
something must have gone

date back to when everybody could make translations in launchpad without
any access control, and the fact that launchpad translations take
priority over upstream translations.
This has nothing to do with frequent updates (actual
I've said this like a thousand times before: UBUNTU NEEDS TO UPDATE TO
UPSTREAM TRANSLATIONS VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY OFTEN. These Ubuntu

LOTS, and I mean LOTS of my valueable free time to open source

This package hasn't changed since September 2006. So whatever problem
it has then, it still have it now.
If someone can figure out why the Ubuntu package building process lost
the translations, I'm willing to help fixing it. Meanwhile I don't have
time to investigate myself.

In the latest tribe (4) of Gutsy this problem still exists. As the Dutch
translator I must say that it is no pleasure to find that one's translations in
(K)Ubuntu are not taken seriously.
It's not only in Qalculate! that this happens, this happens in other programs
that I translated too, such as
