Doesn't seem to be a language pack related problem for me.
I do not have any addons installed (excepting the Firefox default theme)

Does this problem (bad colors on BJC-4000) still occur on Edgy? If the
printer manager suggests bjc600 as driver to you, try gutenprint. It
perhaps gives you a better output quality.
Make sure that your Gutenprint packages are up-to-date. Best is you

I think as soon as the patched version of the gnome-cups-manager is in
Edgy we can close this bug. Patching CUPS wouls not only expose sensible
data but also make CUPS too much patched, so that incompatibilities with
other tools can happen.

In edgy knot3, the -x (and --extract-to) option makes xarchiver display
an error message about multiple -d options used, when there was no -d
