The Xorg.log file looks like it'll be informative. It's not from a
lockup, but has information you'll probably find interesting (e.g. back

I can confirm this. I've been having the same problem. All I've had to
do though was install the 915resolution package, and it worked. I
didn't even have to configure anything. (I've got a Gateway MX1023
notebook/laptop.)

insconsistent, in that usually it succeeded in less than 3 attempts. When it
failed, it booted all the way to X startup with no problems. The X.org wait

Is this just an informational message that some functionality will be
missing because some optional packages are not installed? For example
you can't use the debugger if you don't have gdb installed, but

When the partition in /etc/fstab is absent boot proccess doesn't stop when fsck

Felix, there is a problem with gdialog which your patch from comment #15
enables. I am able to configure everything when using gdialog, but there
is no way to cancel it. Pressing 'cancel', or escape, nothing helps. I
would just disable the GUI dialog completly. But this is someone's else

It's a feature, not a bug :-) Scp auto-completion actually contacts the
remote host to find paths on it. If you have password-less SSH
authentication, this works well. If not, it takes a few seconds anyway
to contact the host and fail the authentication. Rejecting.

This VT corruption can be eliminated on my MacBook Pro 15 if 'splash'
is removed from the kernel options.
No usplash, no corruption. VT's all work fine.
As kko points out, this is likely unrelated to the FB bugs in 42974.

I'm having same kind of problem where mouse clicks are not responding.
Only way is to switch workspaces, but that doesn't always help.
Best solution so far has been right clicking on the zone where the mouse
was when it stopped responding. This problem is more frequent all the
time

Now that the fix has been released, the update process should not create
duplicate UUIDs, but how can people already affected by this bug get rid
of the duplicate UUIDs?
Is there a way to generate new UUIDs for each affected partition or
should we remove all UUIDs from menu.lst and fstab and use
New update fixed the problem.

Think that this error appeared after last dbus update.

I am not able to reproduce this problem. I had the gaim system tray icon
configured to show from the start. Can you try uninstalling gaim with
synaptic and removing all configuration files completely and delete your
.gaim folder again, then try reinstalling it? Is there anything that you
