No I didn't... The current version is 0.9.12. From what I've read there
are some changes in this version that may fix the problem.
Intrepid uses pulseaudio 0.9.10 - which means reporting a bug upstream
probably results in try the latest version and see if that helps...

Experiencing the same thing under 8.10 beta. Was able to work around
under feisty with the cstate solution - no longer available. Noise was
present in Gutsy, but to a lesser extent. Now, under Ibex, the volume
of the noise seems higher.

I'm not sure why you get those messages from the live session, because
further down the log it is correctly configuring the mouse and keyboard.
Also, HAL from the live session is showing a keyboard and mouse (whereas
it isn't on the installed system).
This is odd. I'll take a look at it further
I've just thought, is hald-addon-input running? HAL isn't showing any
input devices on the installed system, which is very suspect.
What is the output of ps aux | grep hald-addon on the installed
system?

The solution can be a bit simplified:
A single file /etc/ld.so.conf.d/alsa-lib.conf is enough, with 2 lines in it:
/usr/lib/alsa-lib
/usr/lib32/alsa-lib
I suggest to include it into both 64-bit and 32-bit pulseaudio
package, for 64-bit systems the second line is not needed.

Andreas, do you also experience this with the acute, grave and circumflex keys?
I have the same problem since I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid. Pressing dead
keys twice doesn't give me the symbol anymore. However, dead key + space works,
i.e. AltGr++,space gives me ~.
