Thanks for the feedback folks. It seems as if all of the problems so far
are with printing pdfs. Specifically with printing pdfs from kpdf since
tk23 mentioned that printing from xpdf works. It sounds like this might
be a bug in kpdf rather than in system config printer.
Two things to confirm this

The bug is back. I've been updating the Inetrepid packages daily.
On oktober 30 I noticed the bug was back. I've reset the SMC which made
it seem OK. Not for long.
I've updated to intrepid final. Same pattern as before. One or two
reboots and the battery indicator gets lost.

closed and FIXED??!! why other distro can install grub in any partition
