Guys, this fix was *reverted* so Ubuntu is still forcing DPI to 96 DPI
by default instead of using the auto-detected value. Until that fix is

Got a similar problems with an external device WD 320 Gb formated in
NTFS. Manage to figure out information on GParted, which apparently
associated the device with a Fat32 partition. I manage to mount it as a
Fat32 partition and read the content (did not try to write just for
safety precautions).

The downloading and installing driver... dialog stayed on for quite some time
(new 9.04 install).
I thought it had crashed but I think it was just taking long to download the
ATI drivers, after ~1min the progress bar jumped to 70% and then it completed.

Instead of this complicated procedure you can just use drivers from my ppa ;]
They are built from the head of display-port branch.
Most probably the reason why you can't use display-port branch above commit
from April 30th is that libdrm from x-updates you are using is stripped from
necessary

It could only be packaged if there was source and license available
(although it wouldn't be the only non-free stuff in Ubuntu :) ) . When
almost 2 years ago I reported this I knew very little about packaging
and didn't check source or license. Some moths ago I browsed my reported

My Asus eee PC 1000HG has a built in a Huawei E620 Wireless Broadband Modem.
Usually when I start the modem from the icon in the Network Connections Menu
(up right on the screen) the procedure is like following:
1) Start the connection: The applet
Have you rebooted after installing it? Looks like it didnt update yet
because it was still in use by something (like gnome-power-manager),
daemon-version returns 8 here on every machine and not null. Killing
gnome-power-manager and restarting it should work, I didn't have it

Here's a possible patch to allow ellipsis into the pathbar button labels
by forcing a maximum label width (and a tooltip to show the entire
label). The solution provided in this patch isn't great (it forcibly
limits the width of the button), it's a step in the right direction.
