If you have CUPS 1.4.0 already, the USB problem is caused by a new USB
CUPS backend. For this backend the usblp kernel module must be
unloaded.
Edit /etc//etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf adding a line
blacklist usblp
and then run the command
sudo rmmod usblp
Now CUPS should see your USB

I am using Jaunty 9.04 and I can confirm this behaviour. The
disconnection is random and happens most frequently when the connection
is idle (no traffic). I've removed network-manager and installed wicd.
So far, no disconnections.
I am using Acer TravelMate 3270 with Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG.
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: seahorse
Groups of keys that are defined in gpg.conf
(e.g. group mygroupname = 0xABCD9DB0 0xABCD9540)
do not show up in the choose recipient dialog, when running the encrypt
command from nautilus contextmenu, so they are unusable.
gpg itself works
ACKed.

I have one more issue because of this. Immediately after rebooting via
sysreq my system wont boot saying fsck failed and cannot start recovery
shell. And I have to reboot again, then it will check filesystem coz of
unclean shutdown and then it boots normally.
