Like my two compadres above, I'm encountering the same symptoms.
Upgraded from Karmic, doesn't work, but does work for a brand new user.
I've looked into my xsessions-error but fixed all the errors, to no
avail. I'm currently working around the problem by launching
/usr/bin/compiz at startup,
/usr/bin/qjackctl is a shell script that tries first to move the
PulseAudio output over to JACK and then tries the pasuspender method. So
it shouldn't be necessary to suspend by default in the menu entry?
Running qjackctl in a shell will show which method it ends up using.

urllib2 always uses GET (for http) and RETR (for ftp). This is not ideal

Your first guess was right, it seems the files have changed in an identical way.
With the fastcheck false flag unison got this right and is working now as
expected again.
However I can not confirm the others. File system on both partitions is
ext4, no vfat

rechecked with google-perftools and it works as expected.

This happens intermittently on my Macbook Pro 5.5, so I debugged into
this for a while. And found there is an incorrect free due to the memory
not being zero-ed during allocation. The attached patch tries to fix
this issue (at least it worked on my side). And I've yet built the
libusb packages at:
