Confirmed the build logs are empty for oss4-dkms.
To see why the build failed try this:
sudo make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build
SUBDIRS=/var/lib/dkms/oss4/4.2-build2003/build/core modules
But I think you will find you are suffering from bug 746048, which has
just been fixed in 11.10 today

This can be avoided by adding "radeon.modeset=0" to the boot cmdline. Doing it
every boot is not an acceptable solution though, because then the graphics card

On my T61, I see this about half the time I try to resume:
legacy_resume(): pnp_bus_resume+0x0/0x70 returns -19
I don't use an ultratray hard disk, just a DVD burner.

Oh, this *wasn't* spinning indefinitely. After about 15 minutes it halted with
the following dialog error box:

I tried a new kernel hoping the issue was addressed, but no luck.
Kernel 2.6.39-3 (xorg-edgers ppa) shows the exact same problem. After
resume, the IR receiver LED stays ON and the remote is no longer
responsive.
When the machine wakes up (using the remote), this is what shows up in the
system
