[Bug 1634005] [NEW] linux treats first partition on sdcard as much bigger than it really is?
Public bug reported: For some reason Linux (dd/mkfs.vfat/mkfs.ext4) treats the first partition of my sdcard as 16GB regardless of what fdisk says it should be. dd sees the other partitions as the correct size. Also if I run mkfs.vfat on the first partition it is treated as a fuse filesystem when mounted, it seems very strange. The whole card has been zeroed out so it shouldn't be an issue of some other weird data on the card. Pulling and reinserting the card after partitioning makes no difference. I have also included the fdisk bootsector dump at the end of this message. [Bug 1634017] [NEW] usb mouse and keyboard freeze after login
Public bug reported: Hello, I have a usb logitech wireless mouse and keyboard connected via an aten usb switchbox to my computers (desktop and laptop). With release 14.04 I did not have any issues. I have now upgraded my desktop to 16.04 and did a clean install on my laptop with 16.04. Now I have the following phenomena: Mouse and Keyboard are working fine when I have the login screen. However after login in my desktop (gnome) comes up and my mouse pointer is shortly (1s) disappearing and reappears. Then I have an approximately 2min freeze time for mouse and keyboard (meaning no response to the usb mouse and keyboard). After that everything is working fine. On my laptop there is no interruption using my internal touchpad and keyboard. This happens on both computers. Switching back and forth is seamless unless the period from switching from one computer to the other takes to long (can not specify the exact time here maybe 1 hour). Then I have the above phenomenon. I have already asked the question and checked the ubuntuforum with no success. [Bug 1615474] Re: Network Indicator / Connectivity-API is not accessible
Last weekend the telephone froze (after turning off hotspot). And I had to hard-reset it using the power button. Then the strange behaviour began: On startup, only one sim card (without pin) was working. Also I was unable to unlock the pin protected card (there was no dialog asking for the password). Even wehen trying "Unlock" from the configuration didn't do any action. The icons to start applications didn't work, but it was possible to scroll through them, only starting an application was not possible. But from the slider on the left side it was possible to start an application. Rebooting didn't solve the issue. A workaround for the pin-locked SIM card was to disable the PIN and then enable it again. That unlocked the SIM card, so that I am able to use it now. Using df via ssh didn't show a full disk, maybe the file system was corrupted during hard reboot. This seems to be the case as not only the network indicator was broken but also the application which asks for the SIM PIN and the launcher. Probably we should have a look on how configuration files are written by applications and how corrupted configuration data is handled. Broken configurations should not leave the applications in an unusable state, I would prefer that instead a user notification is sent and the configuration is reset to the last known working state or to useful defaults. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1615474 Title: Network Indicator / Connectivity-API is not accessible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1615474/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1634050] [NEW] Please enable CONFIG_VFIO_NOIOMMU
Public bug reported: Hi, for certain cases a user might want to use VFIO in NO IOMMU mode. This only enables it to be an option, it doesn't change things unless "enable_unsafe_noiommu_mode" is set. See this reference: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/7906971/ for more details. This is used for some setups of DPDK see this http://dpdk- guide.gitlab.io/dpdk-guide/setup/binding.html#vfio-no-iommu Usually the reason to pick vfio over uio is the isolation. But there are some cases where vfio is required for extra features but can't work unless NO-IOMMU mode is used. I watched the topic a while checking if there is some major "oh crap what have we done" but there was none. An since by only enabling it in the kernel it shouldn't change a lot I wanted to ask if you could enable this config in the kernel for Z*. Technically it would be nice to get it in Yakkety as well, but I think we should be fine only working forward and enabling it in the Z release. ** Affects: dpdk (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Incomplete ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Also affects: dpdk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: dpdk (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: dpdk (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete ** Changed in: dpdk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1634050 Title: Please enable CONFIG_VFIO_NOIOMMU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpdk/+bug/1634050/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1407928] Re: [phone] Does not auto-switch to available, known WiFi
I have noticed this issue as the backup via backuppc works only when the mobile device is available in the local network. Then I have to manually reconnect the mobile device before a backup can take place. This has worked well before. By the way, I have experienced a similar issue on my Thinkpad that does not always connects to the network when it is available. [Bug 1634059] [NEW] indicator-datetime-service devours memory rendering system useless
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1633319 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1633319 Public bug reported: Upon upgrading to 16.10, yakkety yak, I cannot load Unity because the indicator-datetime-service devours memory at an incredible pace before being automatically killed, and restarting to devour all over again! [Bug 1359689] Re: cryptsetup password prompt not shown
I think it's very likely this is (at least in some cases) related to nvidia drivers. I first got this problem while trying to fix a problem with ubuntu freezing after initial login described [here](http://askubuntu.com/a/760935/207604). I did "update" > "upgrade" > "upgrade nvidia drivers" as per the answer I've highlighted. Unfortunately this upgraded the kernel from .36 to .38 as well as upgrading nvidia drivers from 364 (I think) to 370, so I don't know which caused the problem. For anyone else with this problem: the only solution/work-around I found was to set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="" in "/etc/default/grub", then "update-grub". Not sure if both are required but that worked and I'm not touching it any more. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359689 Title: cryptsetup password prompt not shown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kubuntu-debug-installer/+bug/1359689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
