For nvidia you can add the following to xorg.conf and still use beryl,
should help a lot:

Note that only nvidia users can do that unless you don't want to use

It would be nice also fix one minor problem in debian/control - default
filetype associations works only when desktop-file-utils package is
installed, so pcmanfm package should recommend or depend on desktop-

The problem still exists with Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) Beta x86.
UDF CDs and DVDs are mounted with mutilated file names (= as iso9660).
$ grep -i scd0 /etc/fstab
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
Changing the relevant line in /etc/fstab solves the problem:

The JMicron problem was a regression that has been fixed (at least in
your case). As for your sound problems, please file a new bug report
with an appropriate subject. It will get better attention from the sound
guys.

I stand corrected, it does seem to be a problem with genisoimage.
I took an image I created on Linux to windows, I could mount the image
as a virtual disc just like I could loopback on Linux, however when I
burned the .iso it junked another DVD.
So I created an .iso using nero, and burned it
Just got the beta version of Feisty. The problem has not appeared in the beta -
I've been able to boot without any of the '/dev/sda12 does not exist' messages.
So far, so good

Check under known bugs. You may have a JMicron controller. Many of them
exhibited symtoms similar to yours.
