I ran sudo apt-get purge tomcat6 tomcat6-common and tomcat is still running. There is nothing at /usr/share/tomcat6/bin or /etc/init.d/tomcat6 , so I'am not sure what is going on. This is a Ubuntu upgrade to 10.04 and I used to be able to run sudo /etc/init.d/tomcat6 stop and tomcat would shutdown. Same problem. I have installed so many games on Lucid and now it's impossible to start the ones at the bottom of the game menu list. This happens with Radiance, Ambiance, Dust, Dust Sand themes. I can get those bottom list items with Human, Clearlocks... If rhytmbox is already open, then attempting to open the folder acts as clicking the play button. I was thinking that this could be a command line issue, but I can't figure it out. It just seem to be quite specific with what its doing, so it's kinda got me worried. Hello Lorenzo Sorry for getting in on this so late. I did the last couple uploads on this package, and I'd really rather it not be merged. . There is no reason to do so, especially with the Debian maintainers of this package being unresponsive. Not that I criticize any Debian or Ubuntu contributer for inactivity, I've come back from a year long semi inactive period myself. However that still doesn't change the fact that merging with Debian at this time would have no beneficial effect on the Ubuntu users of this package. There is nothing new in this revision, only a security patch which we already have. Doing it just for the sake of doing it just seems a waste IMHO. If you really want to improve the Ubuntu ircd-hybrid package I would suggest packaging the new upstream version 7.2.3 which has been out for nearly a year iirc, it will be tricky the security issue that effects the current version is stll present in 7.2.3 (again iirc), and there is a dfsg repack to do as well as some patches from svn to merge in. Hi,
Only the development version is updated by default. If you want the
latest version in Karmic, you can either request a backport, download
the latest package source (with apt-get source taskjuggler) and
compile it by your own (using sudo apt-get build-dep taskjuggler to
get all dependencies and debuild -b to generates the deb files) or use
a ppa to do that.
From what I've seen, I doubt that that version will fix your problem.

I can confirm that I get the same error message with Lucid. I have raised upstream bugs. According to Lennart, a Pulseaudio developer, the problem (10 months ago) was Uh. This needs to posted as a bug against the a52 alsa module upstream. It shouldn't return EAGAIN on snd_pcm_commit(). http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/655#comment:2 I don't know if this is still the problem or if it has been fixed but I have reopened the above ticket with Pulseaudio and raised a new one with the Alsa plugins project here: https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa- bug/view.php?id=5054 Regarding the A52 plugin, this is compiled from Lucid source as by default Lucid doesn't ship with the A52 plugin. [Bug 601299] [NEW] maverick btrfs slow install
Public bug reported: Tried installing Maverick alpha 2 ( alternate-i386) - because its an eeepc 901 i created a usb install disk with the usb creator. My eeepc has 2 ssd drives, 4GB and 8GB - On the 4GB one i created a 300mb ext2 partition for /boot, and the rest of the space btrfs for / . The 8GB drive was all btrfs. Partitioning was quick and painless but install was much too slow. After 2.5 hours i stopped the install because i had only reached 34% - this is not right. Lucid + ext4 on the same hardware is very fast. I know btrfs is experimental but i have my mythbuntu system with a 1.5TB storage disk formated to btrfs and its quick. I can confirm that this still applies to Maverick Alpha 2. Recap: - I burned an Mavrick Alpha 2 CD. - booted from the CD - for the installation I choose an USB-Stick as the installation partition - installation was successful - rebooting without the USB Stick failed Even worse: the /boot directory of the internal drive was wiped! I booted from the Alternate CD and had to reinstall the latest kernel manually and then reinstall grub into the boot sector. Some scripts really seem to be getting confused with the devices the should be dealing with. I advise anyone to only test in VM's. I tested a web seite on a german setup and it seems that all common browsers (I checked firefox and chromium) consider the value of the LANG variable. So on all of my setups, DejaVu Sans is choosen for MS Sans Serif on web sites - with or without a 'lang=de' tag. But the real strange thing is: Even if I choose Loma on a web site or in e.g. Openoffice.org writer umlauts are displayed correctly. But if I choose Loma in Winforms/Mono applications, umlauts are replaced with boxes. So there seems to be a problem with playing Winforms/Mono and Loma together. But: This twist is a valid workaround on all of my systems. That means that you are working the computer too hard :) On a serious note, do the fans in your computer seem to be working? If not, there is probably a serious problem with ACPI, which you might be able to resolve with a BIOS update, otherwise we will need to find/develop a fix in Ubuntu. If the fans are working but the computer is overheating please try the Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat alpha 2 live CD and see if the problem still occurs. So, it's up to applications how they handle the missing glyphs. Web browsers and OO.o take the glyphs from other fonts, while, according to your report, Winforms/Mono apps don't. That may explains. OK, as the workaround is valid, I'll apply it upstream. Public bug reported: Today Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit, gave me an option to upgrade my packages and it included an update to the kernel too. I upgraded from kernel 2.6.32-22-generic to 2.6.32-23-generic. I installed all the other updates too. After the upgrade my system became terribly slow each time I started Eclispe 3.5 Galelio. The previous version of the kernel never displayed this behavior. Surprisingly, the CPU usage remained at 100% even after killing the java process using system monitor. I have attached the CPU usage screen shots when using kernel 2.6.32-22-generic and 2.6.32-23-generic, when running eclipse. Public bug reported: Today Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit, gave me an option to upgrade my packages and it included an update to the kernel too. I upgraded from kernel 2.6.32-22-generic to 2.6.32-23-generic. I installed all the other updates too. After the upgrade my system became terribly slow each time I started Eclispe 3.5 Galelio. The previous version of the kernel never displayed this behavior. Surprisingly, the CPU usage remained at 100% even after killing the java process using system monitor. I have attached the CPU usage screen shots when using kernel 2.6.32-22-generic and 2.6.32-23-generic, when running eclipse. I downloaded java from the SUN website, the following is the Java information: java version 1.6.0_18 Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_18-b07) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.0-b13, mixed mode) This bug never occurred when using the previous version of the kernel, and happed only after I upgraded to the newer Kernel. Yes, you're right. Package libcairo2-1.9.10-1ubuntu1 fixes gimp layers, patterns and brushes but not gradients. Also Chromium browser loading icon in the tab bar flickers. I installed the latest version of Evolution 2.30.2 . The bug is still present. I attached a edited screenshot to explain how to reproduce the bug. Possibly 2 or 3 different bugs. Method 1: drag a contact from one folder to the ubuntu one folder. - result contact is not copied, no error warning / message. Method 2: Right click a contact in a contact folder and choose copy (or move) to and select the ubuntu one folder. - result. error message as show in the screenshot.
