[Bug 767201] Re: package emacs23 23.1 1-4ubuntu7.2 failed to install/upgrade: aliprosessi installed post-installation script palautti virhetilakoodin 139
hrasa writes 2011-04-27: This bug is not worth pondering, I think. The main reason (- which does not explain why this is not working -) is that the laptop is out of date. Having a 2.4GHz processor it has only 0.477Gb of central memory. (and costs too much to buy more). Trying to load a bigger bunch of items by Synaptic or loading big update from net, made it go through the program informing memeory overflow. I corrected the situation by command line approach and adjusted swappiness to 100. While working the free part of the memory is normally between 150Mb and 300Mb. And is more prone tos swap(?). [Bug 771643] [NEW] Plymouth glitches and blank screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth I upgraded fresh installed ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04 with "update-manager -d" and now I have some problems with plymouth. [Bug 711397] Re: package firmware-b43legacy-installer 4.178.10.4-5 failed to install/upgrade due to unsupported hardware
Here is a work around for ya, use 10.10's bcmwl-kernal-source: http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/bcmwl-kernel-source Remove the old one, and after you install the one from maverick be sure to hop on synaptic, find bcmwl-kernal-source again and goto "Packages > Lock Version" after you have found and highlighted it. This is to prevent any accidental upgrades back to natty's version which would once again break it. Once all is done you could restart, or just wait patiently for it to refresh and connect/supply nearest wifi locations. apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected running-unity ** Description changed: Problem is sporadic. If computer is booted with headphones unplugged the sound switching works fine. Breaks sometimes following suspend or upon opening certain content such as Flash animations. Unsure exactly what is causing it. Often machine will lock on one or the other output and will play sound correctly through that output but will not switch back and fourth. If fixated on internal speakers there is sound from the speakers and plugging in the headphones does not mute and headphones produce no sound. [Bug 771636] Re: Rhythmbox reports "There is not enough space on the device to transfer the selected music, playlists and podcasts" when amount of free space lower than total music collection, opposed
I think I know what's happening. I have been synchronizing a few albums at a time, slowly filling my 16GB iPhone. At some stage, the total amount of music becomes larger than the total amount of free space. When the synchronizing failed in my case, I had something like 7.2GB of music with 7.0GB free space. It is as if Rhythmbox wants to be sure it can copy all music, rather than figuring out what's new and ensuring there is enough space on the device for the new music. I.e. everything was fine when I had 7.0GB of music and 7.2GB of free space. I bet that if I delete all music from my iPhone and then synchronize my entire music collection it will work without any problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771636 Title: Rhythmbox reports "There is not enough space on the device to transfer the selected music, playlists and podcasts" when amount of free space lower than total music collection, opposed to size of changes to be pushed to mobile device. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But we cannot do that in the theme. Because then the icon would be used in Preferences menu in a Classic desktop session. This is an issue because the same icon name is used in both panel and menus. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity I booted from a Live USB key created from Kubuntu's 20110426 natty- desktop-i386.iso. When the initial screen appeared, I selected "try Kubuntu" instead of "install Kubuntu". When the Plasma desktop appeared, I double-clicked the "install Kubuntu" icon. When ubuquity started, I selected language "English" and clicked [Forward]. On the second screen, I was not connected to the Net, did not install 3rd party software, did not download updates, and clicked [Forward]. The screen jumped to a "kernel BUG" report; see the end of the attached kern.log file. Ubiquity was still running on a different screen; it had reached the partitioning screen. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: iso-testing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771629 Title: kernel BUG report during Natty Kubuntu install -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 733349] Re: Minimize windows upon clicking application's launcher
I can only re-iterate my suggestion from earlier, with a slight alteration: "If we had a Windows 7-style window selector displayed on hover then the behaviour could be: 1) Open/restore window(s) 2) On hover, display window selector alongside icon 3) On click, minimise all windows This would both match people's expectations and provide an easy way to switch between open windows." The expose is what makes this complicated. As a work-around, Rasto's idea would be OK, but I do think it's fairly complicated as the launcher is always doing something different (though no more complicated than the current behaviour which is totally confusing and just makes the launcher seem broken). Remove expose (ie. place that functionality in a nice window selector) and the launcher only has two jobs: launching apps and minimising them. If there is one window, click to restore, click to minimise. If there are multiple windows I would say that clicking the launcher icon should minimise ALL windows of that app because there is currently no GUI way of doing so, whereas if you just want to mimimise the top window you can just hit the mimimise button. Click again to restore. It's simple, understandable and predictable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/733349 Title: Minimize windows upon clicking application's launcher -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 748768] Re: Why does my mouse point to a place besides where the cursor is pointing?
I've got new news on my status. I noticed that my monitor does not blink anymore. I speculate an update in this past week has fixed the issue. However, this only bring me back to the better functionality I had with Ubuntu 10.10. I still have the tiled screen as I posted pictures of from my phone. The "better" functionality is where I can make a temporary fix to my bug that lasts until I restart. I can enable this temporary fix by switching monitor resolutions. But, if I choose to keep the new configuration, the tiled screen comes back. I have to revert to the old configuration, and then close the display configuring utility without applying. Applying would also enable the bug with tiles. [Bug 643779] Re: Canon PIXMA MP450 not in database, although driver exists
Thank you for reporting this bug. This bug was fixed in Gutenprint 5.2.7 but as 5.2.7 hasn't been released quite yet, this will not make it into 11.04 but it will be in 11.10. ** Also affects: gutenprint via http://sourceforge.net/support/tracker.php?aid=3073864 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: gutenprint (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643779 Title: Canon PIXMA MP450 not in database, although driver exists -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 753971] Re: Display garbled upon restoring original resolution or connecting external displays
@Bryce I should have mentioned that what is fixed is the single monitor version of the problem. I cannot currently test on a multi-monitor setting. What we have is a fix. We were able to isolate a few synchronization issues between the display, compiz and the rendering that were causing problems. On Intel and ATI (with the open source driver), it does not seems that more work is needed in X. Yet I would like to hear from the certification team to get their update on the matter in order to be certain of that. As for the issues that are still present with NVidia GPUs, I believe we will have to take them to the driver developers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/753971 Title: Display garbled upon restoring original resolution or connecting external displays -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
