[Bug 1653476] [NEW] no thumbnail for WebP images
Public bug reported: Images in the WebP (.webp) format don't get a thumbnail, but just the default stock black icon. When you click on the image, it displays fine. And you can also send it via Telegram and it will display fine. In the attachment you can see two identical images; one in PNG and the other in WebP. And only the PNG image will have a thumbnail. [Bug 1653482] [NEW] Flash player crashes sporadically in Konqueror
Public bug reported: I was browsing forum.419eater.com and scamwarners.com/forum together, which I do often. It crashes without warning when I'm just looking at a page or scrolling. [Bug 1653481] [NEW] Memory leak in libcrypt.so
Public bug reported: ubuntu version: 16.04 LTS (also seen in 14.04 and suspect all versions) glibc version: 2.23 Repeatedly opening libcrypt.so, calling crypt and closing libcrypt.so leaks memory. I believe the issue is with static arrays which are allocated on demand but never deallocated. See both md5-crypt.c and sha256-crypt.c: both these files have a static buffer: libc_freeres_ptr (static char *buffer); which is allocated by the __md5_crypt and __sha256_crypt functions respectively. This is not a pathological issue. I have encountered it in a real world use case. The following describes the situation in which it occurred. - A continuously running process uses PAM to perform authentication. - PAM module used relies on crypt function call. - Each call to auth causes libcrypt.so to be loaded and unloaded. - Result: Small leak in main process each time auth is performed. Workaround was to force a dependency in the main processes source code on libcrypt.so thus keeping the library permanently in memory. I suspect this may be a bug destined for glibc itself rather than the Ubuntu distribution but, as per glibc guidelines, I'm reporting it here first. I haven't investigated the source code in enough detail yet to conclude where the responsibility for the bug lies. ** Affects: glibc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653481 Title: Memory leak in libcrypt.so To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1653481/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1652562] Re: [Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E130] BCM4313: very slow speed with brcmsmac
>tim474, the latest mainline kernel is 4.10-rc1 (not 4.4, or 4.9). When I tried, it was 4.9. I'll try with 4.10, but I doubt that it was fixed. And on Lenovo E130 I noticed that brcmsmac can work properly if I install wl propriteary driver, and do >rmmod wl >modprobe bcma >modprobe brmsmac and don't reboot or suspend. After reboot (with blacklisting wl and unblacklisting brcmsmac and bcma) or suspend-resume it has the same problem. Maybe cause of the problem is firmware? And I noticed a problem with wl. [Bug 1653457] [NEW] Three finger tap not working for "ELAN1010:00 04F3:3012 Touchpad"
Public bug reported: three-finger taps are not working with my touchpad. One-finger, two- finger, three-finger, four-finger, and five-finger taps are detected by evtest, but only single and double finger taps are detected by xev. All other touchpad features are working, including two-finger vertical scrolling, two-finger horizontal scrolling, tap and drag, clicking on the left and right virtual buttons on the bottom of the touchpad. My end goal is to use two-finger tap for paste (i.e. middle click) and three-finger for right-click, but the three-finger tap is not detected. If it matters, a two-finger tap still brings up the right-click menu after running "synclient TapButton2=2". I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS x86_64 on a Dell Inspiron 7559. logs from xev and evtest are attached. Public bug reported: Non-Optimus laptop ASUS G752VS-GC063D-CST256. 17.3" FHD LED 1920x1080, Intel Core i7-6700HQ (3.50Ghz), 16GB DDR4, 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD 7200rpm, DVDRW-DL, Nvidia GTX1070 8GB GDDR5, Wifi 802.11ac+Bluetooth 4.1 (Dual band) 2*2, Gb LAN, HDMI, mDP, Intel WiDi, USB3.0 x4, USB3.1-Type C(Gen2) with Thunderbolt, HD webcam, Illuminated KB, no OS. Hello, after experimenting few days ago with Ubuntu 16.04.1, 16.10 and 17.04, among other problems I found that touchpad and Fn keys (all except volume control) doesn't work on my brand new ASUS G752VS. It is very hard even to try Ubuntu 16.10 and 17.04 because of the missing mouse pointer. This problem must be related to a video driver because if after installing one is capable to install Nvidia drivers - problem is solved. This problem doesn't exist both while trying and installing Ubuntu 16.04.1! I'm currently on Windows 10, and this bug report is made from Ubuntu 16.04.1 LiveCD. dmesg | grep -i elan [ 101.082929] input: ELAN1203:00 04F3:3043 Touchpad as /devices/pci:00/:00:15.1/i2c_designware.1/i2c-1/i2c-ELAN1203:00/0018:04F3:3043.0007/input/input11 [ 101.082998] hid-multitouch 0018:04F3:3043.0007: input,hidraw6: I2C HID v1.00 Mouse [ELAN1203:00 04F3:3043] on i2c-ELAN1203:00 xinput list ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointerid=4[slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ G-SPY USB Gaming Mouseid=10 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ ASASTeK COMPUTER INC. [Bug 1547297] Re: No auto login in Ubuntu GNOME Xenial
What was the installer editing instead? (is there some dangling file edits hanging around somewhere now?) -- I see from above that it was editing "/etc/gdm/...", on my system fully updated though, there is no dangling files in /etc/gdm/, so that's good. This is what is actually needed (as we know): {{{ $ cat /etc/gdm3/custom.conf | grep Auto AutomaticLoginEnable = true AutomaticLogin = }}} Even if we fixed the installer, what to do about all the existing versions with the bug? Will we have it auto-correct once the user runs patch updates? - or are they just stuck with googling to find this bug report and then have to fix it manually? :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1547297 Title: No auto login in Ubuntu GNOME Xenial To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1547297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 925405] Re: VNC server does not work with Mac Screen Sharing
Hey there. Will git tip from September do? At that time I built QEMU on Ubuntu 16.04.1, pointed my Mac (10.10) at it again and had the same experience (had to use a third-party client) Considering I opened this four years ago, I'm kind of surprised it's still a talking topic. Was kind of expecting more people to report it, but then again Launchpad is a bit off the beaten path these days and most people just sigh and fetch a third party client. It's just that it seems like a trivial thing to fix overall, so I thought it worthwhile to chime in - Happy New Year! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/925405 Title: VNC server does not work with Mac Screen Sharing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qemu/+bug/925405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1386005] Re: Password not accepted graphical boot for encrypted root system
I am affected by the very same bug in 16.10. I have hybrid virtual/dulaboot system - a physical encrypted partition + dedicated ESP that is bootable on bare metal from UEFI and able to load either Ubuntu or Windows; or bootable via VirtualBox using dedicated ESP and UEFI boot. - In case of bare metal everything boots properly and password can be entered - In case of booting in virtualbox boot stucks in LUKS password phase. Any attempt to type is immediately echoed in text-mode over Plymouth graphical screen (top left corner) and submit with enter doesn't work. If I edit kernel GRUB's Ubuntu entry and remove these specific lines: load_video gfxmode ... and remove following from kernel commandline: splash $vt.handoff it boots in text mode, I am able to enter keyphrase and it boots just fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1386005 Title: Password not accepted graphical boot for encrypted root system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1386005/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
