[Bug 1820173] [NEW] Screen brightness buttons change gain instead of brightness

2019-04-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

On my HP stream 11, when I use F2 or F3, the brighter or less bright buttons on
my keyboard,
Lubuntu changes screen gain, not screen brightness or backlight.
Gain will distort colors, but not change the brightness linearly.

** Affects: lubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Incomplete

[Bug 1807621] Re: missing icon theme and segmentation fault trying to open qpdfview

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
In qpdfview 0.4.17~beta1+git20180709-2, opening from Firefox, pcmanfm-
qt, and terminal, all work without problems. Sure, there's the complaint
about the icon, but that's not particularly surprising. If you still
have the problem, please attach an example PDF file and the specs of
your machine.

[Bug 1824588] Re: Ubuntu Disco boots to or logs out to black screen

2019-04-13 Thread Erick Brunzell via ubuntu-bugs
Slight change in behavior testing a fresh install of 20190413.2 - if
installed with auto-login switched on logout did load and give the
expected choices of Ubuntu and Ubuntu w/Wayland. But if auto-login is
turned off I still get a black screen on reboot. I suspect that gdm3 is
not even loading because I've tried blindly opening a tty, logging in as
root, and sudo reboot but nothing happens.

Once again just installing lightdm (I haven't tried the old unity-
greeter) gives me a working machine. By looking at the changelog nothing
has changed in gdm3 so I'm unsure why the logout behavior would have
improved with a fresh install??

[Bug 1802501] Re: Openbox shortcuts involving the Windows/Meta/Super key conflict with the use of that key to open the menu in lxqt-globalkeys

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
** Description changed:

- Resize window to 50% of screen no longer working since 18.10. It did
- work in 17.10 and 18.04.
+ In 18.10, we made use of the fact that lxqt-globalkeys can define the
+ Super key by itself to open the menu. This had no effect on any Super
+ key combinations defined in lxqt-globalkeys. Unfortunately, this had the
+ negative consequence of essentially disabling all of the key
+ combinations that used the Super key as defined by Openbox.

- Configuration is done properly:
+ Luckily the workaround is simple: remove the definition for the Super
+ key. You can do this in the GUI or deal with this section of the config
+ file at /etc/xdg/lxqt/globalkeyshortcuts.conf:

- $ grep W-Right ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml -A8 -B3
-
-
-
-
- -0
- 0
- 100%
- 50%
-
-
+ [Super_L.9]
+ Comment=Show/hide main menu
+ Enabled=true
+ path=/panel/mainmenu/show_hide

- Also some other shortcuts or hot keys are no longer working. The
- application lxqt-globalkeysd has no configuration for this key. I might
- disable therefore or another key configuration application shipped with
- 18.10 is involved in this.
+ In fixing this there's a larger discussion of auditing all the shortcuts:

[Bug 1822237] Re: 19.04 Lubuntu BIOS full-disk install with encryption failed to boot (grub-rescue)

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
As it turns out, this was a double-whammy. The new Calamares used a
cryptsetup that defaulted to luks2, which grub2 does not support.
Ubiquity gets around this by using an unencrypted /boot (ewww). However,
you can get cryptsetup to explicitly use one version or the other of
luks rather than relying on whatever the default version is. The library
used to partition, kpmcore, was modified to do exactly this. Problem
fixed:

kpmcore (3.3.0-5) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Use luks1 format only

[Bug 1824216] Re: Linux 5.0 black screen on boot, display flickers (i915 regression with certain laptop panels)

2019-04-13 Thread Robert Strube
I've compiled a mainline build from here: https://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.0.7/.

I applied all the Ubuntu patches as well as the patch from here:
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/296411/

Raw patch download here:
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/296411/raw/

And things are working correctly again. It looks like Intel devs have
cherry picked this fix into intel-drm-fixes, so hopefully this gets into
mainline 5.0.8 and eventually trickles down to the Ubuntu kernels.

If possible it would be great to manually apply this patch to the
release kernel for 19.04 so people won't have problems installing.

[Bug 1822394] Re: [Dell BIOSes dated 27 Mar 2019] laptop keyboard & touchpad not working at gdm screen after boot

2019-04-13 Thread Robert Strube
OK, after compiling 5.0.7 mainline + Ubuntu Patches + this patch from
here (https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/296411/) to fix the link
training issue for my laptop panel, I am able to boot with modesetting.

Now I *am* noticing the problem. As others have suggested, bending back
the laptop panel on it's hinge "resets" the keyboard and trackpad, then
I can bend it back to a normal position and everything starts working.

One other thing worth mentioning is that the problem also exhibits
itself in lightdm, not just gdm3.

minute.

As recently as 20190326.2 the test ran as expected displaying
"scrolling" text on screen before completing and reporting a pass or
fail so I doubt this was an intentional change but I could be mistaken.

[Bug 1759462] Re: Keyboard shortcuts not operational on 18.04

2019-04-13 Thread Artemis
I am currently using Ubuntu Budgie and I can confirm this issue still
occurs with the latest 18.04.2 version. Fresh install and I can only get
shortcuts to work using the Alt button. I am using an X240 Lenovo
Thinkpad Laptop. If anyone has any possible fixes let us know.

[Bug 1824667] Re: Flash in Chrome does not work

2019-04-13 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1824667/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1822394] Re: [Dell BIOSes dated 27 Mar 2019] laptop keyboard & touchpad not working at gdm screen after boot

2019-04-13 Thread Robert Strube
I also run a Dell XPS 9575 2 in 1, with BIOS 1.40 and my system is *not*
exhibiting this particular problem after a fresh 19.04 install.
Keyboard and mouse work fine with GDM, but this is also after booting
with the nomodeset kernel boot parameter.

Note: for other folks reading this thread wondering how I even got 19.04
installed, I had to install with nomodeset because of a kernel bug with
the i915 module with certain laptop panels. I don't think the 4K panels
are impacted by this bug...

[Bug 1824671] [NEW] message reporting app crash on system startup

2019-04-13 Thread Robert Williamson
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System
-> About Ubuntu

Release: Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy
pkgname' or by checking in Software Center

robert@robert-HP-Pavilion-dm4-Notebook-PC:~$ apt-cache policy spice-vdagent
spice-vdagent:
  Installed: 0.17.0-1ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.17.0-1ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 0.17.0-1ubuntu2 500

3) What you expected to happen
The computer was rebooting from the first update following the OS installation,
I expected nothing to happen.

4) What happened instead
A message popped up on the desktop saying an app crashed asking permission to
send a report.
I found a log file description of the problem:"Cannot access vdagent virtio

[Bug 1776748] Re: Duplicated nm-applet (network tray icon) on panel

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
** Description changed:

  Version: Lubuntu 18.04
What happen: On launching desktop there are two network tray icons depending
on how fast you started it.
What is expected: To have only one network tray icon whatever the way the
desktop is started.

  Description:
The miniapplication indicator's preference have two options: sound menu and
application's indicator, the last show the network icon, as well as other
indicators (I use Clipit and Multiload), so if unchecked it will hide those as
well besides the network one.

There is another tray panel for notification area, bringing energy icon,
and network again. This panel has no preference, so, if disabled will
  hide both icons.

I noticed that depending on how fast you boot your desktop, or if you
installed with the option not to ask the password on login enabled, it
may, sometimes, appear to be correct, with one single network icon.

If nm-applet is killed and then relaunched it seems to fix the problem,
but it's a workaround, it should not be the default behaviour.
+
+ The real solution: remove the indicataor applet from the panel.

[Bug 1824038] Re: Network adapter doesn't work after returning from suspend

2019-04-13 Thread Gordon Dracup
An update on this.

I installed kernel 5.0, but the same issue occured. I did notice that my
wi-fi can be re-activated using the keyboard wireless switch (Fn-Wifi).
I have 2 wi-fi networks available, the normal one and the 5G one. I had
been using the 5G one, but switched to use the normal one. My wi-fi came
back up, and resumes ok after being in standby.

I re-booted using the kernel 5.1.rc4, and it works ok as above. I don't
remember trying the physical wi-fi function key before, so it is
possible it would have worked in the Ubuntu current mainline kernel
4.18, which I will test next.

Could the issue be 5G wifi specific?

[Bug 1769473] Re: Update seeds etc. for Minimal Install in Lubuntu

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
** Description changed:

- The Minimal Install contains the same packages as the full (standard)
- install on the live 18.04 installer. This also revealed some additional
- steps we should take to be sure everything is properly implemented:
+ For 18.04, Ubuntu introduced a new option for a "minimal install" in
ubiquity. We did not have our seeds set up correctly for this and so it doesn't
function correctly. However, this was overlooked until after release and we
have long offered a minimal installation option:
+ so we left well enough alone. (Note: Xubuntu didn't offer it intentionally
and they offer a similar minimal option)

- - [ ] rename Lubuntu's "minimal install" (note lowercase) instructions to
"core"
- - [ ] fix whatever problem exists in the seeds to be sure the Minimal Install
instructions actually work
- - [ ] update the seed so that it's complete and consistent with the Desktop
Team
-   - [ ] discuss whether or not we should remove system tools
(usb-creator-gtk, hardinfo) and revise as needed
-   - [ ] pick one package manager and stick with it and don't remove it from
the Minimal Install
-   - [ ] remove additional packages (audacious, galculator, gnome-mpv,
leafpad, simple-scan)
-   - [ ] remove langpacks
-   - [ ] remove reverse dependencies
- - [ ] write a manual test case to ensure everything is working properly
-
- …unless we wish to forego this altogether, in which case we should
- remove the remove file from our seed. Xubuntu never added it and they
- don't have the minimal install option. They have, like us, also offered
- a "core" option.
-
- …or unless we wanted the Minimal Install to actually provide core
- (thanks for the idea Nio).
+ For 18.10 and beyond, we switched to the Calamares installer that doesn't
offer this option either. There's some potential of adding this as a feature,
which we'll be looking into. This is being tracked here:

[Bug 1821820] Re: Cannot boot or install - have to use nomodeset

2019-04-13 Thread Robert Strube
Sorry for the spam, last post for now I promise!

Reading this bug report more closely, it does appear different than the
bug I am encountering. With *this* bug, one sees a black screen *with*
a cursor, my symptoms are different, as the laptop panel is failing
display link training, so nothing is displayed, it flickers a couple of
times and nothing every appears. *This* bug appears to be Xorg related,
but the bug I'm encountering (which is known on bugs.freedesktop.org) is
a bug with the i915 kernel module.

For now I've removed the duplicate status of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1824216 and will
add comments there moving forward.

Again apologies for posting so many times, I honestly thought this was
the same issue I'm encountering.

OK reading the original bug reports more closely, this *does* appear to
be a different bug entirely. Because we never see a cursor on the
screen, the laptop panel literally fails link training.

[Bug 1769473] Re: Update seeds etc. for Minimal Install in Lubuntu

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
FWIW, official support of Lubuntu's Bionic is ending this month, so the
likelihood of seeing a fix there is quite small. Since then, we have a
new installer, which means we'd have to implement our own mechanism.
We'll look into that:

https://phab.lubuntu.me/T58

That said, the minimal installation option is still the best:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Documentation/MinimalInstall

So I'm not sure if this bug is actually a duplicate after all. I've
done a fresh install of 19.04 and upgraded to kernel 5.0.0-11.12 (which
supposedly fixed the other bug), and the link training issues with my
Dell XPS 9575 laptop panel are still present. So it looks like the
primary issue i'm experiencing has not yet been resolved.

[Bug 1824670] [NEW] Boot to black screen after Kubuntu 19.04 install

2019-04-13 Thread Darin Miller
Public bug reported:

Legacy laptop, Dell Vostro 1720, booted to black screen after fresh full
disk install. Using ctrl-alt-f2 to drop to a terminal and issuing
"startx" completed the boot process.

Installed NVidia 340 driver which crashed the current session and sent
me to an endless GUI (sddm?) login loop where login immediately crashed
back to the GUI login.

Rebooting from the login screen worked as expected and system is running
fine now.

[Bug 1821820] Re: Cannot boot or install - have to use nomodeset

2019-04-13 Thread Robert Strube
I just tested with a fresh install of 19.04 (booted up with nomodeset
and installed). After installation I confirmed I was running
5.0.0-11.12, but the laptop panel link training issue is still present
(Dell XPS 9575) causing a black screen on boot. The only way to boot is
with nomodeset as a kernel boot parameter.

Note: as a side issue it was virtually impossible to bring up the grub
menu now in 19.04 (I think because the timeout is set to zero). I had
to make sure to chroot into the newly installed system (after
installing) and then edit the /boot/grub/grub.cfg file and manually edit
the timeout value.

I thought that the this Ubuntu bug was referring to this bug
(REGRESSION: black screen with linux 5.0 when starting X)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109959), but perhaps it's
referencing another issue entirely? Not sure, but either way the failed
link training bug still appears to be present with 5.0.0-11.12 causing
black screens on bootups with certain laptop panels.

Reading through that thread on bugs.freedesktop.org, Intel realized the
problem was caused by certain laptop panels not reporting their
specifications correctly (Dell XPS systems appear affected, but other
laptops will most likely also be affected), so the code they added to
optimize the link (fast and narrow vs. slow and wide) would cause
certain laptop panels to never display anything with modesetting.

Towards the end of the thread to posted a 5.0 backport patch which
completely removes the link optimizations,
https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/296411/. Based on the Ubuntu
kernel changelog I'm not sure exactly what patch was reverted. My guess
is it's for another issue entirely.

I'll probably try to compile the Ubuntu kernel with their the
freedesktop.org backport patch applied and report back. I can also post
my dmeg here for reference.

[Bug 1788018]

2019-04-13 Thread gustavo.willer
I fix the problem with this approach:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1759836/comments/70

from "Florian Dittmer (fd81)"

"
Following the instructions mentioned by one user in the comments helped me to
solve the cpu load issue with udev-239 and kernel 4.18.17, while Bluetooth
still works.

Run the following command:

/lib/systemd/systemd-udevd -D

This should print garbage in endless loop containing
".../97-hid2hci.rules:"

If so, edit /lib/udev/rules.d/97-hid2hci.rules

and add

ACTION=="add",

in front of line mentioned by above command.

In my case, I had to change the following lines in 97-hid2hci.rules
from:

ATTR{bInterfaceClass}=="03", ATTR{bInterfaceSubClass}=="01",
ATTR{bInterfaceProtocol}=="02", \
  ATTRS{bDeviceClass}=="00", ATTRS{idVendor}=="413c",
ATTRS{bmAttributes}=="e0", \
  RUN+="hid2hci --method=dell --devpath=%p", ENV{HID2HCI_SWITCH}="1"

to:

ACTION=="add", ATTR{bInterfaceClass}=="03", ATTR{bInterfaceSubClass}=="01",
ATTR{bInterfaceProtocol}=="02", \
  ATTRS{bDeviceClass}=="00", ATTRS{idVendor}=="413c",
ATTRS{bmAttributes}=="e0", \
  RUN+="hid2hci --method=dell --devpath=%p", ENV{HID2HCI_SWITCH}="1"

And this fixed the issue (after reboot).

[Bug 1788018]

2019-04-13 Thread jgwphd
An update: The problem I reported in January went away on its own after
a few weeks of having the problem every single day when I booted each
morning. I was installing Ubuntu software updates when they became
available during that time. There is something going on during boot that
causes this problem.

"my speculation" is that I suspect a timing issue with the way things
are initialized during boot up that leads to the problem. Some strange
timing issue is occurring which causes systemd-udevd to fall into an
infinite loop (continuously looking for something or to be notified
about an action completion) and drive one of the processor cores to
100%. When a new kernel was installed or something was done to change
initialization activity during boot the problem went away because the
timing problem that created it was changed. I believe that some kind of
race condition may be at the root of the problem.

>From my earlier search on the problem symptoms, it seems that when
systemd-udevd isn't working correctly you can get numerous confusing
symptoms that mysteriously go away when the something changes timing
conditions during boot. Since the problem is in the kernel then it
effects other systems besides Ubuntu.

[Bug 1759836]

2019-04-13 Thread gustavo.willer
I fix the problem with this approach:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1759836/comments/70

from "Florian Dittmer (fd81)"

"
Following the instructions mentioned by one user in the comments helped me to
solve the cpu load issue with udev-239 and kernel 4.18.17, while Bluetooth
still works.

Run the following command:

/lib/systemd/systemd-udevd -D

This should print garbage in endless loop containing
".../97-hid2hci.rules:"

If so, edit /lib/udev/rules.d/97-hid2hci.rules

and add

ACTION=="add",

in front of line mentioned by above command.

In my case, I had to change the following lines in 97-hid2hci.rules
from:

ATTR{bInterfaceClass}=="03", ATTR{bInterfaceSubClass}=="01",
ATTR{bInterfaceProtocol}=="02", \
  ATTRS{bDeviceClass}=="00", ATTRS{idVendor}=="413c",
ATTRS{bmAttributes}=="e0", \
  RUN+="hid2hci --method=dell --devpath=%p", ENV{HID2HCI_SWITCH}="1"

to:

ACTION=="add", ATTR{bInterfaceClass}=="03", ATTR{bInterfaceSubClass}=="01",
ATTR{bInterfaceProtocol}=="02", \
  ATTRS{bDeviceClass}=="00", ATTRS{idVendor}=="413c",
ATTRS{bmAttributes}=="e0", \
  RUN+="hid2hci --method=dell --devpath=%p", ENV{HID2HCI_SWITCH}="1"

And this fixed the issue (after reboot).

I agree with you, its not the best solution. This bug impact many users!
At next release of this softwares this bug has to be fixed.

But I lost many days to fix this problem, and I'm sharing this 'hard approach'
at forums I had visited before. So other people do not waste so much time!

These nerd-level suggestions all work but the root cause (the real
problem) is not solved and will pop up again. How is the non-nerd
supposed to do this? ...would you want your neighbor editing your system
files Someone needs to fix this permanently!

Please install this deb for kernel-5.0.0-8-generic, and remove
quirk=0x21 for that module, reboot and redo the test.

In this deb, the codec driver of rt5645.c handles the comment #4. let us
see test if it works or not.

dpkg -i this.deb
remove the quirk=0x21
reboot

thx.

[Bug 1813537] Re: Wifi + bluetooth adapters are gone after sleep/wake

Definitely support uefi capsule update.
2.10 is posted here:
https://fwupd.org/lvfs/device/com.dell.uefi5ffdbc0d.firmware

Are you installed in uefi mode? If so, capsule update might be turned
off in bios setup.

If you are installed in legacy mode you'll have to manually download exe
and place in fat32 USB disk. Then go into F12 menu at POST and select
bios update.

[Bug 1782579] Re: nm-tray is missing a native Qt "Edit Connections" or "Connection Information" menu

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
** Description changed:

- When clicking "Edit Connections" or "Connection Information" when right-
- clicking the nm-tray applet, nothing pops up. Either installing xterm by
- default or the NetworkManager GNOME frontend would fix this, but there
- should really be a native dialog box.
+ Lubuntu 18.10 and on is using nm-tray for network connections.
+ Unfortunately it lacks a native connection editor and instead loads
+ `nmtui-edit` in a terminal. This is substandard and makes dealing with
+ things like VPNs impossible.

- This has been filed upstream here: https://github.com/palinek/nm-
- tray/issues/23
+ To be clear, with the switch to LXQt from LXDE, Lubuntu is attempting to
+ use applications that do not require GTK. The Ubuntu Release Team
+ imposes a requirement that prevents us from using cmst, otherwise it
+ would be a better choice.
+
+ Lubuntu is tracking development of this here:

Transmission, and others. And it has happened to me twice today. The led of my
USB Wifi adapter is always on and there is no packet transfer. Then the
NetworkManager asks me for the password. Suggesting me in the small window with
hidden characters. Press 'OK' and ask me again. 'I forget' the password and add
it again. And I do not accept it either. I had to change the USB Wifi adapter
several times in USB ports. And suddenly it works again.

[Test Case]
- Turn on the Notebook
- Open programs that use WiFi intensely (Transmission)
- Wait a few hours
- Internet traffic is blocked
- NetworkManager requests the password of the SSID that I use
- Login password
- Does not accept the password
- I forgot SSID data
- Context the SSID that I use
- Ask for a password again
- Does not accept Password
- Change USB ports with my WiFi USB adapter
- And after a few minutes, it is correctly connected again.

=> Bug the menu shift once the mouse enters the menu

I found git cherry-pick command but the situation is that I have passed
2 git bisect good on "4.9-rc8" and I have no boot problem on 4.10-rc2+3
which I now is somehow corrected on 4.10-rc8 because system hangs on USB
3.0 PCI again. But 4.10-rc8 is 11 steps ahead now (4.10-rc2+3). What
should I set to git cherry-pick?

[Bug 1787734] Re: LXQt Arc theme + Breeze widgets hides menu scroll bar when searching

2019-04-13 Thread Walter Lapchynski
** Summary changed:

- Lubuntu Arc theme + Breeze widgets hides menu scroll bar when searching
+ LXQt Arc theme + Breeze widgets hides menu scroll bar when searching

** Description changed:

  STEPS TO REPRODUCE
   1. Click the menu
   2. While not highlighting any menu item, type a
   3. Mouse over the results
   4. Use the scroll wheel to move down a screen

Note there are additional results despite no scroll bar being displayed.

  Two idiosyncracies regarding #2:
   1. This works in English. If you have another language, especially one that
does not use Latin characters, you will certainly want to use a different
character.
   2. The important thing is that you have a set of results that are greater
than the maximum number of entries to display. To see that, right click on the
menu button and click "Configure Application Menu" and then look at the value
for "Maximum visible items," which defaults to 10.

  EXPECTED RESULTS
A scroll bar should be visible. You'll notice one is if you use, for example,
the Ambience LXQt theme.

  ACTUAL RESULTS
The scroll bar is entirely invisible.

  NOTES
Looks like this is in Ambience:

  #MainMenu QScrollBar::handle {
  background-color: palette(highlighted-text);
  color: palette(highlighted-text);
  }

but there does not seem to be something similar in our theme.

The default for upstream is Frost and it also suffers the same problem.

[Bug 1824661] [NEW] Nvidia issues with 19.04 and XPS 15 9750 GTX 1050 Ti Mobile

2019-04-13 Thread Eric
Public bug reported:

Hello. I am having issues consistently with this laptop and the Nvidia
drivers in 19.04. I have tested this on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie,
and Ubuntu MATE. This is with both the recommended 418 driver as well as
390. Today I tried installing the latest daily of Ubuntu MATE with the
proprietary driver option on my Dell XPS 15 9570 with Nvidia GP107M
(GeForce GRX 1050 Time Mobile). Boots to blank screen that flashes a
couple times. Can't get to tty. Reboot, editing grub to include
nomodeset. Boots to underscore character in the top left. I can get tty
at least. 418 driver is installed. Looking at logs but nothing seems
obvious. If there's anything I can do to help with this please let me
know. Thanks!

[Bug 1796861] [NEW] Lubuntu 18.04.1 Crashes Spontaneously

2019-04-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Starting from 08.10.2018 I experience spontaneous crashes in Lubuntu 18.04.1
(two crashes in the last 2 days).
I can't associate it with any steps from my side.
Error reporting dialog may open when I use browser or when I use leafpad.
If I press "Show Details" dialog closes without any response.
So I started pressing "Send" in hope it will report the problem successfully.
A screenshot of the error reporting dialog is attached.

I see nothing suspicious in dmesg or syslog.

Here is the tail of dmesg:

[ 73.615416] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): wlp2s0: link becomes ready
[ 211.167846] perf: interrupt took too long (2513 > 2500), lowering

[ 1973.217158] perf: interrupt took too long (4946 > 4927), lowering

Here is the tail of /var/log/syslog:
